planning your wedding ceremony

planning your wedding ceremony

A wedding is a ceremony with roots that touch cultural norms, family traditions, and religious rituals. Your ceremony could have strong ties to those expressions, or just a glimmer of tradition. Whether you have a clear plan or only a hint, we will explore ceremonial elements and choose those that are meaningful to you. Next, we’ll personalize those elements and intermingle the language and symbols that will best express your relationship, your commitment, and your love.

I offer two styles of wedding ceremonies: secular (of no particular religious tradition) and Zen Buddhist. Both options are flexible and can be as creative as you like. I have compiled a list of common ceremony components for reference. Feel free to edit the list to your liking. We will talk about your selections, deletions, and additions at the first meeting. Have fun!
