Renee and Duff planned a lakeside cabin wedding. The family property at Kabekona Lake became their cathedral with its expansive sky, rolling lawn, and trees that stood as pillars. Rumbling thunder became the introductory song for a brief rain shower, which accentuated their vows. It was a perfect day filled with love, laughter, and excitement!
I opened and closed the ceremony standing to the the side of Renee and Duff. During interactions with the bride and groom, my back was to the attendees so the couple’s responses could be experienced by all.
Everyone was calm as the rains made a brief appearance. We simply implemented our contingency plan and continued with the ceremony underneath the eaves, only a few feet behind the arbor. There, the couple proclaimed their vows — with thunder as added emphasis! Guests reacted to nature’s orchestration with awe and knowing glances. The rain ceased, the sun came out, and we returned to the arbor for the remainder of the ceremony.
All the Bells…
This was a casual wedding ceremony sprinkled with traditional elements. An All the Bells wedding, the ceremony felt intimate even though there were many guests. It was obvious each and every attendee felt a special bond with the bride and groom.
